Introduction // Einführung
At the end of 2000 “Which Chemicals Caused Jesus Christ?” was created—the about 23 minutes long debut of the musical project gran où lée by Daniel Knef. WCCJC? is publicly available as MP3 EP since 2002.
On the occasion of its quinquennial existence several musicians and sound artists were asked for their reinterpretation of this work in 2005. As a rough orientation for their work served the question “Which Chemicals Caused This EP?”.
The in terms of sound and style broadly varying contributions resulted in two albums—both called “Chemtrails”. The first one is a mp3 album, freely available on this website, the second one will be published as a cd album by Gruenrekorder. The cd album will only contain reinterpretations, using exclusive sounds taken from the WCCJC? EP, the tracks of the mp3 album were created free of any restrictions.
